lntroduction:

Coace® B1P is a maleic anhydride modified polypropylene with low melting point and high grafting rate. Maleic anhydride modified polypropylene (MAPP) is a type of functionalized polypropylene that has been chemically modified with maleic anhydride. The addition of maleic anhydride to polypropylene enhances the compatibility of polypropylene with polar materials and provides reactive sites for further chemical modification.

Description

Coace® B1P is a maleic anhydride modified polypropylene with low melting point and high grafting rate.

Maleic anhydride modified polypropylene (MAPP) is a type of functionalized polypropylene that has been chemically modified with maleic anhydride. The addition of maleic anhydride to polypropylene enhances the compatibility of polypropylene with polar materials and provides reactive sites for further chemical modification.

Characterisitic

MAPP with a low melting point is typically achieved by modifying the polypropylene with a low molecular weight maleic anhydride derivative. This modification lowers the melting point of the MAPP, making it easier to process and allowing for better adhesion to other materials.

A high grafting rate indicates that a large proportion of the polypropylene molecules have been modified with maleic anhydride. This can be achieved through careful control of the reaction conditions, such as temperature, pressure, and reactant concentrations.

MAPP with a low melting point and high grafting rate is useful in a variety of applications, such as adhesives, coatings, and composites. The low melting point allows for easy processing, while the high grafting rate provides strong adhesion to other materials.
