POE-g-MAH Nylon Toughener


W1 can be used not only as a compatibilizer but also as a toughening agent. As a nylon compatibilizer, it is also suitable for PA/PE and PA/PP alloys, which can improve the toughness of the alloys. As a nylon toughening agent, it has a very significant toughening effect on PA6 and PA66.

The toughening effect of polyolefin elastomer grafted with maleic anhydride is the elastomer part. The higher the addition ratio, the better the toughening effect, usually not more than 20%, and the main function of the active port of maleic anhydride is to connect with nylon. When the closed ring of maleic anhydride encounters the amino group of nylon, the closed ring is opened, and the amino group of nylon is connected to react and link to generate water molecules. Therefore, the role of the elastomer part is toughening, and the role of maleic anhydride group is compatibility.

Description

 W1 is prepared by grafting maleic anhydride by POE reaction, because it introduces a strong polar side group (maleic anhydride) on the main chain of POE molecule, so maleic anhydride grafted POE can become a polar material A bridge of adhesion and compatibility with non-polar materials. In the application of nylon + glass fiber modification, it can react with the glass fiber after surface treatment to improve the compatibility of nylon and glass fiber, thereby improving the tensile strength and impact strength of nylon
