Description

Coace® W5A-2 is a glycidyl methacrylate modified polyolefin elastomer with high grafted rate.

Glycidyl methacrylate modified polyolefin elastomer (GMA-POE) with a high grafted rate is a type of polymer material that is created by grafting glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) onto a polyolefin elastomer backbone. The high grafted rate refers to the amount of GMA that is chemically bonded to the polyolefin elastomer backbone, which can be achieved through a variety of methods.

Characterisitic

The GMA-POE can be prepared through a melt-grafting process or through a solution-grafting process. In the melt-grafting process, the POE is melted and mixed with GMA, and a radical initiator is added to initiate the grafting reaction. The resulting material is then cooled and solidified. In the solution-grafting process, the POE is dissolved in a solvent, and GMA and a radical initiator are added to the solution. The resulting material is then precipitated and dried.

The high grafted rate of GMA in the POE can be achieved through various methods, such as controlling the reaction conditions, using a suitable initiator, and optimizing the ratio of GMA to POE. A higher grafted rate typically leads to better adhesion properties and improved thermal stability.

In summary, GMA-POE with a high grafted rate is a polymer material that is created by grafting GMA onto a polyolefin elastomer backbone. It has several desirable properties, including improved adhesion to polar surfaces, increased toughness, and enhanced thermal stability, making it suitable for various applications such as adhesives, coatings, and engineering plastics.
